In the classroom
I enjoy teaching a variety of topics including health, social, positive, and sports psychology, and yes... even statistics and research methods, . In addition to instruction in the classroom, I mentor students in research and helps prepare them for postgraduate school and beyond.
Letters of Recommendation
If you are asking for a letter of recommendation from me, please follow the specifics below. These directions are intended to help me write the best possible letter for you. This is especially true if you are asking for a letter via email.
Send me an email with the following information:
Semester, year, and class when I first met you (e.g., Fall, 2019, Health psychology)
What classes have you taken with me and what grade(s) did you earn? List them all and list the grade(s).
In the classes that you took with me, what experiences stood out to you?
What assignments did you enjoy/excel at?
Did you make any particularly strong discussion comments during the course(s)? If so, what were they?
Name top three outside the classroom activities (e.g., internships, volunteer, work) you’re involved in.
Send a resume/personal statement
If it's been a while and you don't think I remember who you are, send a link to your LinkedIn profile (so he can put your name to a face)
In an Excel Sheet:
Tell me what schools and programs the letters need to go to
Tell me when the letters are due
Tell me how to get those letters there (electronic or hard copy); if hard copy, include addresses
Send me a reminder email two weeks prior to the first deadline
